Vivian was born with the umbilical cord as a cord around her neck. Which led to Vivian being oxygen deprived at birth. Her mother was unaware of the disastrous consequences. Her mother remembers well that Vivian did not cry for the first few hours after birth. Everything else seemed normal until Vivian was three months old. Vivian was behind in her first visible developments. Both motor and her physical growth. Vivian’s mother visited four different hospitals. The doctors kept saying that there was nothing wrong with Vivian. Due to the lack of the necessary medical knowledge and equipment, they could not make a diagnosis. Vivian’s mother said that Vivian was getting worse and that at a certain point she could no longer see or hear. Vivian weighed about 4 kg when she first came to us. An average 3-year-old child should weigh around 14 kg on average. It is therefore a miracle that Vivian is still alive. Many people around her thought she would not survive. Now that she has joined Triumph Heart Organization and is being given Miracle Porridge by our dietary supplement, Vivian now weighs 7 kg. She still has a long way to go before she reaches the right weight.

Vivian

Starved child in Somalia due to malnutrition

The effect of being malnourished repeatedly is that it can seriously hinder a child’s growth and development, resulting in death. She should continue to receive the necessary nutritional support and care at Triumph Heart to gradually achieve a healthier weight. For a long time, Vivian was deficient in vitamins due to her malnutrition, especially the much needed vitamin D; therefore her eyesight and hearing were affected. Now that she is receiving vitamin D and other vitamins and necessary nutrients, her body is gaining strength and her overall health is improving. With consistent nutritional support, Vivian’s body will continue to improve and she will have a better chance of living a fulfilling and healthy life in the long run.  Vivian and her family, as well as we at Triumph Heart Organization are therefore very happy with the help and donation from Karim and his donors to provide Vivianwith good nutrition!

We hope you also understand the urgency as Kerim understood right away. We hope that you will also want to help these children directly by making a donation. How much? That is of course entirely up to you. Triumph Heart, our children and their families, as well as Kerim, will be very grateful to you.
